Si tratta di una specie scavatrice che si trova in zone aride, spesso aggregata insieme ad altri individui. Si rifugia dall’aridità e dalle alte temperature diurne uscendo di notte per cacciare artropodi e piccoli vertebrati. Le femmine possono vivere fino 20 anni.
Striped-knee tarantula
Zebra tarantulas are deep-burrowing spiders. They live in open semi-arid scrublands, and are often found in large aggregations. The deep burrows keep the temperature below the highest daytime temperatures, and retain humidity. Zebra tarantulas can grow to about 10–13 cm including legspan. Females can live up to 20 years.
